Purple sprouting broccoli is such wonderful tasty stuff that it needs very little doing to it.
Plunge into boiling water for 4-5 minutes, drain and serve with a drizzle of olive oil or butter and a squeeze of lemon juice.
Put the broccoli on to cook as above. Heat a few tablespoons of olive oil in a pan and gently fry two finely chopped cloves of garlic and 1 deseeded and chopped chilli, for a few minutes. Drain the broccoli once cooked and toss in the garlic and chilli pan to coat with the fragrant oil, add a squeeze of a lemon if you have one, season and serve.
This recipe is an extension of the one above. Put the broccoli and pasta on to cook. Fry the garlic and chilli for a couple of minutes, then add six cherry tomatoes quartered and six torn basil leaves. Cook for a further couple of minutes then add the broccoli and warm through. Mix with the cooked pasta and serve with plenty of parmesan.
