Reine de Glaces may be slower growing, but what it lacks in speed it makes up for in sophistication. Its crunchy texture and distinctive mild bitter taste make it a favourite amongst chefs. The taste's so good many choose to cook with it too.

Because you need to harvest the whole plant instead of picking individual leaves it's not great for patios. Choose Lollo Rosso instead.
