Purple Sprouting Broccoli has an incredible flavour, right up there with those giants of the veg plot, asparagus and globe artichokes. The downside is it takes a while to reach maturity. If you've got space for just one slow maturing vegetable, put this at the top of your list.
It falls into the 'cut and come again' camp. Snip off the buds as they appear and it will continue producing new ones for up to 2 months.
Pigeons can be a problem in the spring so you may need to cover your crop with netting.
Growing Equipment: Gutters are ideal for sowing.
