The slugs are attracted to the bait-laden pellets instead of your plants, eat them, then crawl off to die, so you don't even have remove the bodies!
I've found them very effective, and they're a lot less hassle than beer traps, copper tape etc.
Sprinkle them around young plants, especially emerging seedlings.
