When my wife and I left London many years ago for a life in Devon, we discovered how easy it is to grow your own organic vegetables.
It came as quite a shock because all the books we were reading were filled with horticultural mumbo-jumbo and lots of stern sounding advice - like the perils of failing to scrub your spade after each use!
Seed to Plate takes the opposite approach to these more traditional information sources. We want to get as many people growing their own organic food as possible. So everything we do is about making veg growing simple and straightforward.
We know people don’t have a lot of time on their hands, or knowledge about growing vegetables, so we’ve created a range of unique tools on the website like the plot designer, grow guides, and instruction videos.
Our seed range is very carefully selected. We're convinced that the traditional heirloom seed varieties, grown organically produce the best flavour. And we’ve picked only those we’ve found super easy to grow, and outstandingly tasty! The seed stock is also very fresh to ensure high germination rates and vigourous plants.
The big addition to the site for 2013 is ‘Peter’s Plot’. I’m going to prove you can create an abundant organic plot for less than 2 hours of time a week, but turning a neglected patch of ground at the bottom of my private garden into five super low maintenance raised beds bursting with my favourite veg varieties. Why don’t you join me? There are instructions on the website and I’ll be using facebook and Twitter to update everyone on what I’m doing.
Enjoy growing your veg!
